I want to jump back again. I feel like that’s the story of my life, wanting to do something, waiting too long, so having to rewind. Before I share all of our fun baby meals we’ve been doing- I want to share how we started the world of solids, Chester’s favorites, and other items we loved using as we navigated those first few months. Let me throw something back for you.. .ten years ago if you would have asked me what I hoped my life looked like in ten years.. I probably would have said, standing in the kitchen that my husband and I live in, with a baby on my hip, in my barefeet. WHAT. Fastforward, ten years, here I am… While it mostly still looks different, it truly is a dream.
A few years ago my college girlfriends and I started one of my very favorite traditions, Friendsgiving! While Iâ€™ve hosted each year, I was over the moon excited for this year! Thereâ€™s something so special about a home being yours and being able to do whatever you want with it to make you love it all that much more.
As the holidays have been approaching, I’ve been sprucing up anything and everything I can with some holiday cheer. The minute Thanksgiving was over, I ditched the fall sangria ingredients and grabbed the goodies for my favorite, Moscow Mules. I hope y’all enjoy this little recipe, but not too much, okay… Maybe .. Copper Mug with Ice..
2 ounces Gin or Vodka.. (I prefer Bombay)
6 ounces Ginger Beer (Cranberry Ginger Shandy is my go-to)
If youâ€™re an avid reader to my blog, there is a couple things you know for sure.. one of those being that I love to host any event for any given reasonâ€¦ Sometimes, I come up with crazy reasons to throw a party.. But my brother proposing to my soon-to-be sister-in-law was the perfect reason to celebrate!
Typically, I would put in weeks-months of planning for an occasion. But with our wedding being only three weeks before the shower and taking a week honeymoon. I knew I was going to have to do something simple and with minor prepping.
Miss Julie is the most darling, stylish, event coordinator and has an eye for the details as well. I wanted something that would be organic and luscious but still have a chic feel.
In my eyes, floral is always the focal point at any event. I decided lots of greenery, hints of berry, and wood platters were a must. I simply used a vintage taupe tablecloth, bought an excessive amount of eucalyptus, and sat out every piece of threshold wood platters from Target I could find in my moms house.
For the shower gifts to guest my sweet husband made a shower scrub (recipe coming later this week), we put the scrub in a pint mason jar, and added a sticker that you can buy hereâ€¦ http://etsy.me/1GPgwfb

This dip is AHHH-MAZING for those warm spring evenings when you’re wanting to get outside and enjoy the evening but need something tasty for the picnic table. After a few go’s at it.. I think we have ourself a winner.. Grab your friends & family and plan a bbq so you can share this goodness!
FIESTA CAVIAR DIP
1 (15oz) cans corn, drained
1/2 (15oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 (15oz) can black eyes peas, drained
1 small sized red onion, diced
3 small red peppers, diced
2 roma tomatoes, diced
6 scallion green onions, chopped
1 bunch cilantro, stems removed
lime juice, squeeze to taste
1 tbsp honey
1tsp chili powder
salt & pepper to taste
sprinkle of red wine
1 tsp melted coconut oil
2 garlic cloves, diced
COMBINE ALL CAVIAR DIP IN BOWL AND MIX. BLEND ALL VINAIGRETTE INTO A PROCESSOR AND COMBINE UNTIL MIXED, POUR OVER CAVIAR. REFRIGERATE UNTIL CHILLED AND FLAVORS ARE SETTLED WELL. CAN SERVCE WITH AVOCADO ON TOP AS WELL.
