If you read my last post, you would have already picked up that sweet boy and I were showered unexpectedly after our first shower was cancelled due to a family emergency. I am so excited to share this day with you, it’s one of those moments that I will struggle putting into words and expressing my gratitude for so many dear family + friends.
It’s one of those things, you know you have the BEST family and have a tribe of the most loyal friends, but then something tragic happens and you realize how much you take those people for granted. The past few years have been very growing for me in relationships. While I’m still completely lacking and needing growth to be a better friend, they have all taught me something. They have me working towards going deeper in all aspects of my life, but especially in friendships.
Being a friend isn’t something that you choose one day of the month or months. You take time from your busy schedule and invest in those friendships. On February 11th that’s EXACTLY what my friends and family did for me.
I walked into a room that was the most beautiful set-up I had ever seen. There was so much thought and effort put into those two hours. I was there early and watched as my closest loved ones walked in one by one with a smile on their face, happy to be there even though it was 70 degrees and they had plenty of other things they could be doing with their own families. They showered me, loved me, and simply made me feel unlike I ever have before. I cried that night to Chase, feeling so full and so recharged after a horrible few weeks.
My biggest prayer for anyone reading this long post is that you truly are surrounded by loving + encouraging women. That you allow your self to step away from toxic relationships even though it can hurt so incredibly bad. That you reach out to that person who you think you would hit it off with and take a chance to meet someone new. That you INVEST in those around you, it’s never too late to show someone how much they mean to you. That you always keep your circle open, inviting new people each and everyday to share their life with you. I pray that if you are reading this and you are feeling lonely and that you are lacking in the friendship area, that you find that little contact page on my blog and say hi, I truly want to get to know you But most of all that you allow yourself to see the good in people, I promise that each and every person has it.
and to my girls.. my cousins, mom & MILS, sisters, friends, community, and all the other categories, thank you. Thank you for coming to spend a day showing me love, for facetiming and texting if you couldn’t make it, for writing me letters of hope & prayer, for reminding me how important it is to cherish those around you. For holding me tight during a scary time and for reminding me how good life is. THANK YOU, I love you each so much more than I could ever put into words. xo
