WEEKEND PACKING

Although we haven’t mastered the art of packing for trips yet, we are still learning, I do feel like we have somewhat of a grasp on weekend packing. Whether we are running off to my in-laws or to the family farm, we try to be very light and organized, so we want to share some tips we have learned along the way.

I say this in every post it seems like, but I know that different things work for different people. This is what is working for us, for now.

We try darn hard to stick to one bag. I am currently loving this duffle from sole society. I love the leather, the two different carrying options, and of course- that we typically can fit our whole family into it!

I’m really working on how to use the same clothes over and over in different ways on trips but I’m still struggling. We also try to realize that we don’t need different pajamas for everynight.

The biggest thing we are learning is how to pack for Chester, whether we throw his stuff in the duffle or diaper bag. Our Baggu bags have been such a life saver when it comes to packing his tiny little things. We love the reusable standard bags from their line- mainly because the mesh allows us to use it in so many different ways.

We like using the small pouches for any of his smaller things- lotions, teething rings, essential oils, etc. We also just keep one fully loaded with a thermometer, Tylenol, and oils. I love that we just throw it in the drawer when we are home but can easily put it in a weekender bag. We like to use the larger bag that comes in the pouch for his outfits, diapers, etc.

Confession- we also totally use these larger bags for grocery store runs, pool days, and storing things. Truly a most used item in this house!

We are hoping to master our travel packing soon so we can share a more detailed way we make it work on vacations. We did okay when we went to Utah and feel like we learned a lot. We have two trips next month that we are so excited about!
